Summary

2 Days

Erciyes Volcano Treck. Mount Erciyes is the highest summit of Central Anatolian Plateau and the fifth highest summit of Turkey. It is one of the best mountaineering and winter sports centers in Turkey, located 26 km south of Kayseri. On the other hand there is a fire worshippers (Zoroaster/ Zarathustra) temple around summit. Agreed truth is monks in historic times are visited this summit several times. Erciyes is exposed to every kind of atmospheric movement and winter brings heavy snow on it

ITINERARY

2 days – 1 night climb

EQUIPMENT

Trekkers need good walking boots, daysack (approximately 40Lt), warm clothing, sunglasses, sunhat, sun cream, raingear (preferably breathable such as Gore-Tex), sleeping bag. Walking sticks are recommended.

We may especially need to use crampons and ice axes depends on snow conditions on early spring and late autumn.

ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS

One night camping; trekkers are expected to help pitch/strike their own tents. All tents are good quality dome tents with two doors.

Lunches will be picnics and trekkers are expected to carry some part of the food, but we don’t skimp here- our packed lunches are wonderful and we include plentiful trail snacks like dried fruit and nuts along the way too.. Evening meals in camp will be hot soup or salads, a main course with pasta or rice and fruit.

GRADE

Grade D: For experienced trekkers who can keep up a steady pace for 8 hours or more and tackle some easy scrambling.
