Dalyan Family Holiday is an exceptional tour package for people who care about making a real connection with the landscape, wildlife, culture, food and the people . Dalyan is a lovely small town on the Dalyan River, just inland from Turkey’s southwest region.
Across the river from town you can see the ancient ruined city of Kaunos with Lycian rock tombs and the remains of a theater. Riverboats connect Dalyan with İztuzu Beach to the south, home to protected loggerhead turtles (caretta caretta) nesting grounds. To the northwest on the shore of Lake Köyceğiz is the village of Sultaniye, known for its thermal mud baths.

Day 1 : Arrival
Transfer from Dalaman Airport to Dalyan. Welcome tour of Dalyan with local guide giving information about the local history and culture. Settle in our local hotel in Dalyan centre.
Day 2 : Trekking
The next day after the breakfast with the local guide you will walk over a hill to the bay of Ekincik and its unspoilt beach. It is difficult to access by road and so most visitors arrive by a boat. The route we take allows us to explore the ancient ruins of Kaunos, with its Roman Baths, Acropolis, harbour and many other ruins including a Medieval castle. We walk through pine forests which hug the dramatic coastline and arrive in Ekincik for a special picnic lunch followed by relaxing swimming in the azure crystal waters of the Mediterranean. The journey back is by local wooden boat, which takes one and a half hours along the rugged coastline, around Iztuzu beach and winding along the river under the ancient rock tombs to Dalyan.
Day 3 : Jeep Safari
In our jeep safari we make stops for a walk around an old ruined village with a mosque, a short canyon trek in the clear waters of the spring which is the source of a local river, a four course lunch in a restaurant built out of wood on top of a river, a typical Turkish familys house for tea, a secluded beach, a mountain peak overlooking Dalyan, the delta and the surrounding seas, just to mention a few. In between your stops you crash through numerous fords and judder down some seemingly impossible tracks.
Day 4: Free Day.
Time to do something for yourself, spend some time at the pool, in town or join one of the other activities of Eco Turkey Travel.
Day 5 : Seakayaking
Pack your bag with swimwear and snorkels. We drive in the morning to the tranquil Asi beach where you will get an introduction to seakayaking. Starting to paddle out from this secluded cove, we will follow the left coast and admire the turquoise water and the rich rock formations. In the next bay, we will head to our first swim stop on a tiny pebble beach hidden under a huge steep rock. Having a short rest, swim, or jumping off a rock, we will then continue our close coast paddling upto a headland and start our long crossing to the right coast. If the waves permit, we get to see a narrow sea cave. Our next stop will be for lunch on a beautiful sandy beach. Your guide is also your cook and will prepare a rich picnic lunch, while you can swim, snorkel and rest. After lunch is a 15-min. paddling back to our start point. At the end of the tour, you`ll have time to drink a cold beverage while we load the kayaks. Our way back to Dalyan is also a nice scenic drive.
Day 6 : Boat tour from Dalyan
Visit the pitoresque village of Dalyan and discover its gems by boat. Sail through the reeds delta to the ancient city of Kaunos, swim and relax at the spectacular Turtle Beach, have a mud bath and ofcourse enjoy a delicious lunch.
Day 7: Shopping in the Local Market and Turkish bath
The local market has many stalls selling (genuine-fake) brand name watches, clothes, leather goods, shoes and spices, all at extremely cheap prices. In the afternoon we go to a Hamam, or Turkish Bath, where we have a sauna, skin exfoliation and massage, leaving us feeling completely revitalised and fresh.
