5 Days Seven Lakes Trek Tour through stunning scenery of the Crimson Mountains, climbs the high plateau of Seven Lakes. The highlight of the trek is optional climb to mount Emler (3625 m), towering above the plateau. After a descending trek alongside rushing water, the walks ends at the waterfalls at Kapuzbaşı. The next day we transfer to Kayseri to finish the tour.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer from Goreme to Aladaglar camp site.

Day 2-4: Trans Aladaglar walk.

Day 5: Transfer to Kayseri.

EQUIPMENT

Trekkers need good walking boots, daysack (approximately 40 lt), warm clothing, sunglasses, sunhat, sun cream, raingear (preferably breathable such as Gore-Tex), sleeping bag. Walking sticks are recommended.

ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS

Four nights camping; trekkers are expected to help pitch/strike their own tents. All tents are good quality dome tents with two doors.

Lunches will be picnics. Each trekker is expected to carry some part of the food for lunch. Evening meals in camp will be hot soup or salads, a main course with pasta or rice and fruit.

Grade C with optional D

Grade C: Demands a bit of experience and fitness to tackle steep slopes and narrow, stony paths for up to 8 hours per day.

Grade D: For experienced trekkers who can keep up a steady pace for 8 hours or more and tackle some easy scrambling.

PRICE

430 £ per person for 4 – 16 pax.

485 £ per person for 3 pax.

524 £ per person for 2 pax .

Prices include all meals, guide, transfers and mule support.

Alcoholic and soft drinks which are available at camps or restaurants and entrance fees to historical sites and museums are excluded.

Itinerary

Day 1:

The meeting point for the tour is the Middle Earth Travel Office in Goreme. We take a transfer from Goreme to Cukurbag Village. (2 hrs) On the way we’ll stop for fresh supplies and food shopping for the trek. We meet with the mules and trek to the first camp site.(2 hrs) Pitch the tents, camp at Sokullupinar (2000 mt). In the afternoon we have an optional walk to Narpuz valley and back to the campsite.(optional-3 hrs).

Day 2:

Today we start early to Climb the high camp. We have a long climb through the Karayalak valley, heading towards Mount Emler, and stop for lunch at Celikbuyduran spring.(3500 mts). An optional non-technical climb of Mount Emler (3625 mt-6-7 hrs), is followed by a short descent to our camp on Seven Lakes plateau. Many semi-nomadic families camp around the seasonal lakes. (1400 mt ascent, 400 mt descent).

Day 3:

We descend from the plateau, walking southeast through the Hacer valley to our third camp site at Sogukpinar (cold spring). (1200 m descent; 5-6 hrs walk).

Day 4:

We continue to descend towards the Ulupinar river. We stop for lunch and a swimming break on the bank of Ulupinar river then we walk 2 hrs more to camp near the waterfalls or village house. (5 hrs trek).

Day 5:

Early transfer to Goreme with local transport. (3 hours).
